Kōkirihia is a collaborative approach to ensuring a mana enhancing education for all Aotearoa New Zealand tamariki and rangatahi.

We want all young people to feel empowered and have the opportunity to realise their full potential on their education journeys.

Glendene School, located in West Auckland, has approximately 150 students in Years 1-6. The student population comes from a diverse range of ethnicities, with 23 percent identifying as Māori.

Our mission is to create good young men. When I started here seven years ago, we had one to six setting, (year level classes ranked 1-6) and you can imagine the mentality that a group of boys have when they call themselves the cabbage class. We then changed to two top bands and four middle bands.
